UPCA has supported the red-carpet opening night of the New York Dominican Film Festival for several years. In 2022 it featured the Katherine Castro short film “Weak” followed by the world premiere of “El App” (The App) directed by Tabaré Blanchard and starring producer and actor and Isaac Saviñon. In 2021 it was the international premiere of “No Es Lo Que Parece,” a romantic comedy about a single man coming to terms with love, which kicked off the week-long festival.
